Alpha XR Mission

Alpha XR Mission conducted by XR Lab PJAIT focuses on research related to individual and crew well-being and participatory team collaboration in ICE (isolated, confined and extreme) conditions. In this two-week mission within the lunar hab, collaboration, objective execution and leisure will be facilitated by advanced eXtended, Virtual and Augmented Reality tools that combined constitute the Mixed Reality Continuum.

The members of the crew, apart from participating in longitudinal studies and habitat activities, such as EVA missions, 3D print prototyping and various media, documentary and outreach projects, will initiate XR Lab’s scientific programme based on multidisciplinary psychological foundations co-designed by research group HASE (Human Aspects in Science and Engineering) of the Living Lab Kobo. This set of exploratory experiments will make use of data from XR-based research tools and digital artifacts combined with various monitoring methods, such as self-reported momentary assessment, psychophysiological and environmental data.

Our joint mission launches the foundation for long-term research collaboration on the issues related not only to Space Exploration, but also those affecting life on Earth.
